Ann Braue
Ann holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Elementary Education
from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. After teaching elementary
school for seven years she literally “went to the dogs!” Ann Braue’s
Canine Training Center (ABCTC) opened as a part-time hobby in 1991
and became a full-time career in 1993.
Ann’s first agility dog MACH 3 Comebye Miss Demeanor MAD was a 2003
AKC National Finalist as well as a USDAA Grand Prix semi-finalist in
2004. MACH2 ADCH Speedoggie On A Crazy Spree won the World
Championship Steeplechase in 2004 & 2007. Ann and
Spree were USDAA Grand Prix finalists in 2004, 2005 and 2007.
In 2007 they were 3rd place in Grand Prix and 1st place in the DAM
Team Competition. In 2004 they were also AKC National Finalists. Ann and Spree won their way onto
the AKC/FCI World Team in 2005 (Spain), 2006 (Switzerland) and 2007
(Norway). In 2007, they won Team Silver and were 14th in the
Individual Competition. Ann and
Spree were the AKC agility representatives at Crufts (England) in
2006. MACH Bluefire Causin Commotion - Scream recently earned
his MACH. Ann and Scream took 2nd place in the USDAA DAM Team
Competition in November 2007.
Karen Holik
Karen began participating in dog agility in 1992 when she started
training her Chow/Sheltie mix. She loves training dogs of all
motivation levels and her successes with many breeds demonstrate her
effectiveness. She believes that all dogs can be taught to run to their
full potential and agility should be a team sport and fun for the dog at
all times. She believes the most important aspects of agility training
are teaching the fundamentals and being consistent with your handling at
all times.
Karen currently owns 3 dogs, including two shelties and a Border
collie. Her first dog (a Chow/Sheltie mix) became her first to receive
the ADCH title in USDAA. She has also achieved this title with her
sheltie and her border collie. Karen’s consistency and ability to
adapt her handling to various breeds and motivational levels can be seen
by qualifying for the USDAA World Championships, and further proven by
competing in the Finals a total of eight times with all four of her
dogs.
Carrie Jones
Carrie has been training and competing in agility for over nine years.
Prior to agility, Carrie competed with her Jack Russell Terriers in
terrier trial events (conformation, racing, go-to-ground). Carrie's
full-time job is a Marketing Coordinator for a real estate developer.
Carrie is a creative and thorough handler, trainer, and instructor and
teaches upper-level handling classes at A Click Above, as well as
private lessons and seminars throughout the country.
Carrie has three dogs, Tango (JRT – 14 yo - retired), Twist (JRT – 12 yo
- retired), and Jive (BC – 6 yo). All of her dogs have earned their
MACH and ADCH titles. Her dogs have been awarded USDAA Top Ten honors
in years passed and have been Grand Prix and Steeplechase Finalists. At
the AKC Nationals in 2007, Jive placed 2nd overall in the 24” division,
3rd overall in the ISC 26” division, and Virginia State Team Champions.
Jive has been on the AKC/USA World Team for two years (2006 & 2007). At
World Team Tryouts, Jive placed 3rd overall in 2006 and won his spot on
the team in 2007 by placing 1st overall in rounds one through three. At
the FCI Agility World Championships, Jive placed 20th overall
individually in 2006, placed 6th overall individually in 2007, and he
(w/teammates "Spree" Braue & "Stellar" Mecklenburg) won Team Silver in
2007. At the USDAA Nationals in 2007, Jive (w/teammates "Spree" Braue &
"Sizzle" Holik) won the Dog Agility Masters Team Championship
